class descriptions
Align
A classic Katonah Yoga™ class weaving metaphor, geometry, breath, and imagination into a dynamic, well-rounded practice. We’ll explore measured alignment, patterned movement, and poetic theory to organize your body, open your imagination, and expand your capacity. Expect clear cues, creative sequencing, and the signature Katonah blend of effort and insight that leaves you feeling grounded, spacious, and inspired.
Flow
A dynamic breath-led practice that cultivates fluidity, focus, and presence. Poses are linked in rhythmic movement and/or held briefly to maintain motion and clarity. May include pranayama, chanting, or meditation. A classic old school vinyasa class.
Restore
A deeply rejuvenating Katonah Yoga™ restorative practice designed to unwind the body and settle the mind. Using blankets, bolsters, and other props, each posture is fully supported so your body can release tension, your breath can deepen, and your nervous system can recalibrate. Expect poetic metaphor, gentle guidance, and time to linger in stillness—leaving you rested, grounded, and renewed.
Suitable for all levels.
Centerx
CENTERx is a 60-minute signature strength and movement class engineered to build intelligent muscle control, expand usable mobility, and restore balance from the inside out.
Rooted in over 25 years of expertise from yoga educator, C-IAYT yoga therapist, anatomy teacher, and personal trainer Kari Harendorf, CENTERx translates decades of clinical movement therapy, injury prevention, and athletic conditioning into an energetic group fitness environment.
By centering every joint in its optimal alignment, CENTERx relieves joint strain, disrupts old patterns of bodily collapse or overuse, and reforms your movement mechanics.
Blending functional strength training, therapeutic joint articulation, alignment-focused yoga, and dynamic resistance work, each session challenges your body through its full range of motion. You’ll build functional muscle, fortify bone density, and cultivate resilient strength—delivering high-intensity conditioning with zero compromise to joint longevity.
Class Structure:
Warm-up & Joint Centering: Mobilize joints, awaken deep stabilizing muscles, and set optimal structural alignment.
Functional Strength Sequences: Target the upper body, lower body, and core using controlled resistance to build power through range of motion.
Signature Integration & Restoration: Dynamic active stretches and restorative positioning to lengthen tissue, release habitual tension, and lock in balanced alignment.
Designed to meet your body where it is and elevate where it can go, CENTERx provides high-output training with a restorative blueprint—leaving you strong, grounded, and centered.

Props
A creative, ever-changing class that explores the power of yoga props to transform your practice. Each week, we’ll vary use of blocks, straps, blankets, chairs, bolsters—and sometimes unexpected household items—to make poses more accessible, reveal their true archetypal form, and build greater strength, stability, and awareness. Suitable for all levels.

Expect deep opening, grounded strength, and a clearer connection to the foundation that carries you through every pose—and every step—of life. All levels welcome.
